Alice Pugnana was born in 1996 in Sarzana. After her professional ballet academic graduation in France, she pursued her studies and in 2022 she graduated in M.A. in Art History with honors at the University of Pisa. After a year at the School of Specialization in Historical and Artistic Heritage of the Università Cattolica of Milan, she started the PhD in History of Art and Performing Arts at University of Florence.
Her research interests currently include the history of textiles, mainly of the XVII-XVIII centuries, liturgical vestments and the theme of the reuse of secular fabrics in the ecclesiastical context.
During her first year of the PhD course, she spent a month in Riggisberg at the Abegg-Stiftung Foundation for her bibliographic research under the supervision of Dr. Anna Jolly.
She is currently abroad for a visiting period at the Institute of Art History of the University of Bern, supervised by Dr. Moïra Dato.
